Went from a widow to an heir,
Now you've got some in your hair,
And the stars are shining bright,
As you bid them all good night,
You blow a kiss goodbye,
And snap the garter on your thigh.

A loyal truth, a sacred vow,
All got you to this point somehow,
You took the harness from the plow,
And hitched it to a sacred cow,
And the sun began to shine,
On the matrimony vine,
The fruit fell to your feet,
But, the taste was bittersweet.
